If you are looking for a few easy-to-make masks with ingredients that are right in your kitchen – look no further! We have compiled a few masks formulated especially for dry skin that will leave you soft, subtle and exfoliated.
For dry, flaky skin you will want to peel off the dead skin on the top layer in order to moisturize the newer skin below. Read our post on At-Home Facial Peels for more thorough instructions or you may use this Simple Facial Peel:
- Peel one papaya, remove the seeds and puree in a food processor
- Add 1 C of pineapple to the food processor and mix until it is a fine paste
- Mix in 1 Tbsp of honey with a spoon
- Wash and dry your face with your normal cleanser and apply a thin to medium layer of mask on the face and upper neck area
- Leave on for 15-20 min and wash off with a washcloth
This mask will leave your skin refreshed and ready to moisturize. If you have flaky, dry skin, applying a peel prior to a mask will help the ingredients penetrate the fresh skin below. You will get you more beauty benefits.
After peeling your dry skin, apply one of the moisturizing masks below. For dry skin, ingredients like honey, avocados, milk, yogurt, flax seed and cocoa are all moisturizing and work well with your skin type.
Avocado Face Mask
Mix 1/2 an avocado with 1/4 C. of honey and mix in bowl.
Apply to face and leave on for 10 min. For extra moisture, add a spoonful of yogurt or milk.
Chocolate Face Mask
2 cups of flour
1/2 cup unsweetend chocolate
1 cup of water
Mix for 5 minutes in a bowl and apply over face and upper neck. Leave on for 15 min and wash off with washcloth.
Mix 2 Tbsp of cottage cheese with 2 Tbsp of vegetable oil. Apply mask and leave on for 15-20 min.
Mash 2 peaches and add 2 tsp of lemon juice. Apply to your face and neck and leave on for 15-20 min.
