Body Scrubs: Which One is Right for You?

Has your skin become rough and lackluster? If so, get your skin summer ready by using a body scrub once a week. Scrubs are an easy way to enhance your natural glow by removing dead skin cells leaving soft, supple skin. But, with so many on the market, which one is right for you? Let’s help you break it down:

Sugar Scrubs
Gentler than salt, sugar scrubs are a good choice for those with sensitive skin. They also dissolve easily in warm water.

Try our LaLicious Sugar Souffle Scrub which uses pure cane sugar crystals to exfoliate while sweet almond and vitamin-e oils condition, moisturize and smooth. With only seven ingredients—all of which you can pronounce—this natural body scrub is made with coconut oil and absorbs quickly and easily into your skin, leaving it moisturized and protected without feeling greasy.

Salt Scrubs
Salt scrubs have therapeutic benefits and mineralization properties that help remove toxins and impurities, and are best suited for people with dry skin or on rougher areas like the feet.

Make your own by mixing 1/2 cup oil (sweet almond, grapeseed or light massage oil) with 1 cup fine sea salt. Add 5-15 drops of essential oil (lavender is relaxing, lemongrass is refreshing and orange is brightening). It should be moist enough to hold together, but not too oily. Adjust oil amount to achieve texture.

Almond Meal Scrubs
Almond Meal is made from grinding almonds into a fine powder that is somewhat moist due to the natural oil in almonds. The powder gently exfoliates, softens the skin and reduces inflammation.

For a gentle treatment, try Credentials Honey Almond Scrub. It contains honey and oat flour that help nourish and soothe. It also offers natural hydration benefits using sodium PCA.

It’s important to use a scrub if you use any self-tanning products. This will help your tan apply evenly and stay on evenly. If you still aren’t sure which scrub is right for you please Ask our esthetician! Happy scrubbing!
